Hydrogen Center Bavaria

The State of Bavaria has founded the Hydrogen Center Bavaria (H2.B) to consolidate and expand the strong position of the Bavarian industry in the important future field of the hydrogen economy. In this way, the State of Bavaria is pursuing the goal of bringing together central players in industry, science and politics in order to advance the topic of the “hydrogen economy” in Bavaria as quickly as possible and to achieve the use of hydrogen in broad practical application.

Hydrogen Alliance Bavaria

During the founding event of H2.B on September 5, 2019, central players of a future Bavarian hydrogen economy signed the declaration of intent for the Hydrogen Alliance Bavaria. Its more than 378 partners from industry, science and politics declare that they will contribute to strengthening and expanding Bavaria’s technological competence in the field of innovative hydrogen technologies and support the activities of the Hydrogen Center Bavaria.

H2.B info booth and mobile hydrogen filling station in front of the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs during the IAA trade show week

During the IAA Mobility 2021 show, the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs is planning numerous activities regarding hydrogen in the mobility sector together with the Hydrogen Center Bavaria (H2.B). Therefore, the H2.B will provide information on hydrogen and especially H2 in mobility in front of the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs. What role can hydrogen play in the mobility sector? What is the range of hydrogen cars, trucks and buses? What is the difference between electric and hydrogen vehicles? How and where will hydrogen be produced in the future?  H2.B staff will answer these and many other questions daily between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. at an outdoor booth in front of the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs. May means of a digital model of hydrogen value chains, visitors can learn about the various production, transport and utilization options for hydrogen. In addition, a mobile hydrogen filling station, operated by the company Westfaln AG, supplies hydrogen vehicles several times a day, making hydrogen technologies directly tangible. On September 10, 2021, starting at approximately 8:45 p.m., a spectacular 3D video show will bring the building itself to life.

Successful second edition of the HYDROGEN DIALOGUE with the “Thinkers and Doers from Politics, Industry and Science”

Globally, hydrogen technology is on the threshold of industrialization. What this means, which decisions have to be made now and which opportunities hydrogen offers for economy, energy system and climate were impressively reflected by the 2nd HYDROGEN DIALOGUE on June 22 and 23. 65 top-class speakers spoke at the virtual congress, among them Federal Minister of Transport Andreas Scheuer, Katherina Reiche (Chairwoman of the National Hydrogen Council), Sven Ennerst (Member of the Board of Daimler Truck AG), the economist Prof. Veronika Grimm, Tony Christian Tiller (State Secretary at the Norwegian Ministry of Oil and Energy), Jonatan Julien (Minister of Energy of the Canadian province of Quebec) as well as the ambassadors from Australia and Canada, Philip Green and Stéphane Dion.

With innovation, networking and expertise at the highest level into a decarbonized future - for this, the Hydrogen Summit from 22 to 23 June offers a top-class program with around 50 national and international speakers from business, science and politics. Speakers include Federal Research Minister Anja Karliczek, Federal Transport Minister Andreas Scheuer, Katherina Reiche, Chairwoman of the National Hydrogen Council and CEO of Westenergie AG, Sven Ennerst, Daimler Truck AG and Jonatan Julien, Energy Minister of the Canadian province of Quebec.
