Hydrogen Center Bavaria

The State of Bavaria has founded the Hydrogen Center Bavaria (H2.B) to consolidate and expand the strong position of the Bavarian industry in the important future field of the hydrogen economy. In this way, the State of Bavaria is pursuing the goal of bringing together central players in industry, science and politics in order to advance the topic of the “hydrogen economy” in Bavaria as quickly as possible and to achieve the use of hydrogen in broad practical application.

Hydrogen Alliance Bavaria

During the founding event of H2.B on September 5, 2019, central players of a future Bavarian hydrogen economy signed the declaration of intent for the Hydrogen Alliance Bavaria. Its more than 419 partners from industry, science and politics declare that they will contribute to strengthening and expanding Bavaria’s technological competence in the field of innovative hydrogen technologies and support the activities of the Hydrogen Center Bavaria.

H2.B board member Prof. Veronika Grimm appointed to the National Hydrogen Council

H2.B board member Prof. Dr. Veronika Grimm has been appointed to the National Hydrogen Council as one of 25 members. In her function as H2.B board member, she has already done important work in the development of a position paper as a basis for the Bavarian Hydrogen Strategy. This position paper was realized together with her colleague oft he H2.B Board of Directors, Prof. Dr. Peter Wasserscheid, and the meanwhile over 70 partners in the Bavarian Hydrogen Alliance.

National hydrogen strategy adopted – Future opportunities for Bavaria’s industry, research institutions and local authorities

The National Hydrogen Strategy (Nationale Wasserstoffstrategie, NWS) published on Wednesday is a groundbreaking step towards a climate-neutral economy and society and provides important impulses to strengthen the economy, research institutions and local authorities in Bavaria and throughout Germany. In recent years, research institutions and industry in the Free State of Bavaria have laid the foundations to be among the pioneers in the field of innovative technologies for the hydrogen economy and hydrogen-based mobility of tomorrow.

European hydrogen strategy presented – joint action required at all levels

The European Hydrogen Strategy published on Wednesday is a major step towards an internationally climate-neutral economy and society. "With the hydrogen strategy, the EU has also presented a programme for the integration of energy systems. The plans contained therein to adapt energy taxation to the climate policy goals and to quickly strive for CO2 price signals in all sectors are decisive for the attractiveness of hydrogen and synthetic energy carriers "
