Bavarian-Norwegian Hydrogen Import Workshop
Hydrogen will play an important role in the decarbonisation of the current energy system. Bavaria’s hydrogen strategy foresees the future usage of hydrogen in various sectors. Due to a high estimated energy demand, hydrogen will, next to local production, also be imported. For that, sufficient hydrogen quantities need to be produced and imported to Bavaria. Norway with its high potential for low-carbon and renewable hydrogen production is expected to remain an important partner for energy imports also in the future.
With this workshop approach, Innovation Norway (IN) together with Norwegian Energy Partners (NORWEP) and the Hydrogen Center Bavaria (H2.B) build on previous delegation trips, roundtables and established contacts to continue the exchange between Norway and Bavaria. The event is supported by the Norwegian Embassy, AHK Norway and the Bavarian Ministry for Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy.
The target of the pre-competitive workshop is to continue this dialogue and to provide insights on the full hydrogen import value chains from Norway to Bavaria, including perspectives on different infrastructures and timelines. The speakers will inform about the technologies and services offered by the industry, give project pitches of hydrogen production plans and present the offtaker views on current challenges and needs.
