IFAT Munich 2024 – Hydrogen in the circular economy
Munich – From 13th-17th May IFAT, one of the world’s leading trade fairs for environmental technologies attracted more than 142,000 visitors. This year, the Hydrogen Center Bavaria (H2.B) was – together with DVGW (German Technical and Scientific Association for Gas and Water) – a partner of the new “Spotlight Area Hydrogen” at IFAT.
The special area was opened by Bavarian State Minister Hubert Aiwanger (StMWi), whose opening speech was accompanied by presentations from Stefan Rummel (Managing Director, Messe München), Dr. Gerald Linke (Chairman of the Board, DVGW) and Dr. Fabian Pfaffenberger (Managing Director, H2.B).
According to the speakers, openness to technology and innovation are crucial to enable environmental protection and continue prosperity in Bavaria and beyond. Even if hydrogen is not a universal remedy, it will nevertheless play an important role in the energy system of the future. Particularly in the circular economy, the energy carrier has great potential, that should be utilized.
In line with the thematic focus of the area “hydrogen in the circular economy” our alliance partners BtX Energy, Electrochaea and Sypox provided their insights and expertise around that topic as co-exhibitors.
In addition to the individual stands, the hydrogen stage captivated many visitors. In two presentations Stefan Dürr from H2.B provided information on the various possibilities of hydrogen in the circular economy and the production of hydrogen from waste and biomass.
