Showcase day: hydrogen mobility<\/h1>\n

MUNICH – The \u201cShowcase Day: Hydrogen Mobility\u201d organised by Zentrum Wasserstoff.Bayern (H2.B) in cooperation with Ludwig-B\u00f6lkow-Systemtechnik GmbH on 11 March 2025 showed how hydrogen is already contributing to decarbonisation in the mobility sector today, what potential there is for the future and what steps are needed to further advance the ramp-up of the hydrogen economy in Bavaria. Under the patronage of the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy, almost 100 participants came together to discuss current developments, challenges and opportunities.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The extensive programme offered participants insights into projects and market trends. In different presentations the participants learned about the regulatory framework and objectives. Additionally, success factors for the development of an efficient hydrogen supply infrastructure were highlighted. Practical experience reports from the use of hydrogen vehicles in fleets showed that there are already numerous useful applications for hydrogen mobility – from bus fleets and refuse collection vehicles to individual and delivery traffic as well as heavy goods transportation.<\/p>\n

In his welcoming address, State Secretary Tobias Gotthardt emphasised how important it is for the mobility sector to exchange ideas with each other and with Bavarian politicians. He thanked the actors present for their pioneering spirit and signaled his continued support for the industry.<\/p>\n

The presentations emphasised that it is essential to promote regional ecosystems and think across borders. An important initiative in this context is the \u201cHydrogen Brenner Valley\u201d being promoted by LBST, which aims at becoming a \u201cLarge Hydrogen Valley\u201d along the Brenner corridor in Bavaria, Austria and Italy as part of the Clean Hydrogen Partnership (CH JU). The bundling of hydrogen demand via regional ecosystems and projects is an important building block for accelerating the hydrogen ramp-up and to utilizing the hydrogen production and refuelling infrastructure that is already in place or under construction. Every vehicle on the road is important for this.<\/p>\n

Another special highlight of the event was the on-site vehicle exhibition, where visitors were able to get a direct impression of various hydrogen vehicles – from cars and light commercial vehicles to lorries.<\/p>\n
