Hydrogen Center Bavaria

The State of Bavaria has founded the Hydrogen Center Bavaria (H2.B) to consolidate and expand the strong position of the Bavarian industry in the important future field of the hydrogen economy. In this way, the State of Bavaria is pursuing the goal of bringing together central players in industry, science and politics in order to advance the topic of the “hydrogen economy” in Bavaria as quickly as possible and to achieve the use of hydrogen in broad practical application.

Hydrogen Alliance Bavaria

During the founding event of H2.B on September 5, 2019, central players of a future Bavarian hydrogen economy signed the declaration of intent for the Hydrogen Alliance Bavaria. Its more than 366 partners from industry, science and politics declare that they will contribute to strengthening and expanding Bavaria’s technological competence in the field of innovative hydrogen technologies and support the activities of the Hydrogen Center Bavaria.

“Bavarian-Norwegian Hydrogen Forum” in Munich on January 24 and 25

MUNICH / AUGSBURG: A 22-member Norwegian delegation from politics and industry traveled to Bavaria on January 24 and 25 to engage in exchange with key hydrogen stakeholders from Bavaria. During the hydrogen delegation trip, political round tables, B2B networking between Norwegian and Bavarian companies, company visits and a Bavarian evening for bilateral exchange and networking took place. Participants of the political round table included Bavaria's Minister of Economic Affairs and Energy Hubert Aiwanger and Melanie Huml, Minister for Europe and International Relations. State Secretary Amund Vik (Ministry of Petroleum and Energy) attended from the Norwegian side. The dialogue between the nearly 50 representatives from politics and industry focused on current obstacles to the ramp-up of the hydrogen economy in Europe as well as starting points for cooperation between Norway and Bavaria.

MUNICH - Three years after the foundation of the Hydrogen Center Bavaria (H2.B) and the Hydrogen Alliance Bavaria, Airport Energie Management GmbH became the 300th partner of the Hydrogen Alliance Bavaria yesterday. Hubert Aiwanger (Bavarian Minister of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy and Deputy Bavarian Prime Minister) and Stefan Dürr (Head of Technology & Innovation at H2.B - standing in for Managing Director Dr. Fabian Pfaffenberger) handed the official partnership certificate in Munich to Peter Waizenegger, Director of Airport Energie Management GmbH in Memmingen and to Ralf Schmid, Managing Director of Memmingen Airport. Airport Energie Management GmbH is an affiliated company of Flughafen Memmingen GmbH and e-con AG from Memmingen.

Bavarian delegation trip to Oman: Close cooperation planned in the field of green hydrogen

MUSCAT, NIMR / OMAN - Bavaria's State Secretary for Economic Affairs Roland Weigert (StMWi) traveled to Oman from November 9 to 14 with a 29-member Bavarian delegation from business, science and politics to meet with high-ranking government representatives and relevant hydrogen stakeholders. Bavaria and the Sultanate of Oman want to strengthen their economic and energy relations and cooperate closely, especially in the field of green hydrogen.
